Fluoroscopy Services by Qualified Radiologists
Fluoroscopy is an examination used to study moving body structures. A dye or other contrast substance is injected into the patient so the doctor can examine how it flows in the body. Similar to how an X-ray is performed, a continuous X-ray beam is passed through the body and the image is transferred to a TV monitor.
This medical imaging test is used in many types of procedures such as barium studies, cardiac catheterization and placement of intravenous catheters. In barium studies, fluoroscopy allows the physician to see the movement of the intestines as the barium moves through them.
