Comprehensive CT Angiography Services
CT scan angiography, or CAT scan angiography, is a minimally invasive medical test used to help doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions. Our radiology practice uses CAT scans or MRIs to complete the procedure. A contrast material is injected to help identify blood vessels and the medical imaging technology used completes the test.
CAT scans use special X-ray equipment to produce multiple images, or slices, and then joins them together into cross-sectional, two-dimensional images. When a patient has a CAT scan, X-ray beams and detectors rotate around them and measure the amount of radiation being absorbed in the body. The table moves the patient through the scanner so the beams follow a spiral path.
Our medical imaging technology allows thinner slices to be obtained in a shorter period of time, and offers a more detailed viewing capability. The CAT scan equipment we use can scan through large sections of the body in just a few seconds.
